abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare adenine nucleotide at a low cost on an industrial scale, by reacting adenine with ribonucleoside and an inorganic phosphoric acid in the presence of a nucleoside-ribosyl group transferase under weakly alkaline conditions. n CONSTITUTION: Adenine is reacted with uridine, cytidine, inosine, or guanosine and an inorganic phosphoric acid, e.g. potassium phosphate or polyphosphoric acid, in the presence of fermentable sugars, e.g. glucose, furctose, or lactose, and a nucleoside-ribosyl group transferase, e.g. nucleoside phosphorylase, and transphosphorylase in an amount (dry enzyme body) of 1W4 times that of the enzyme (as a protein) as a catalyst, under weakly alkaline conditions, preferably a pH of 7.2W8.5.
