abstract | PURPOSE: Title fiber mainly consisting of PET in which a high-stiffness aromatic diamine is added at the beginning stage of melt polycondensation to give a modified polyester that forms fibers with increased Young's modulus. n CONSTITUTION: At the beginning stage of melt polycondensation of polyethylene terephthalate or a polyester mainly containing the same, 0.5W20wt%, based on the polyester, of compound A, compounds A and B or their reaction product (salt or oligomers) is added and the polycondensation is performed. Then, the resulting polyester is made into fibers.
