titleOfInvention Production of polyester polyacrylate with low irritation
abstract PURPOSE: The reaction between a polycarboxylic acid and a monoepoxide gives a polyesterpolyol, which is made to react with acrylic acid to produce title acrylate with low skin irritation that readily polymerizes and crosslinks. n CONSTITUTION: The addition reaction of (A) a polycarboxylic acid to (B) a monoepoxide as ethylene oxide is effected to give a polyesterpolyol of over 240 molecular weight. Then, the product is esterified with (C) acrylic acid. On the esterification, the use of a solvent that forms azeotropic mixture with water, such as toluene, a catalyst, such as p-toluenesulfonic acid, and a polymerization inhibitor, such as hydroquinone, is preferred. The equivalent ratio of component A to component B is 1 equivalent to 1W4mol and component C is 0.8W1.2mol to 1 equivalent of component A. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
