abstract | PURPOSE: A preparation for rectal administration having improved absorption, comprising a slightly absorbable antibiotic, cholic acid, and a fatty acid glyceride. n CONSTITUTION: An antibiotic having poor absorption in oral administration, e.g. cefazolin, kanamycin, and erythromycin, is mixed with cholic acid or its salt and a fatty acid glyceride, e.g. a medium or higher fatty acid triglyceride.
