titleOfInvention Preparation of synthetic rubber latex
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a synthetic rubber latex having improved stability, and capable of being coagulated to large particles in high productivity, by dissolving a radical polymerization initiator in a conjugated diene monomer, etc., dispersing the solution in water containing a dispersant, and further homogenizing the dispersion by a mechanical means. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A conjugated diene monomer (e.g. 1,3-butadiene, etc.) is mixed with (B) other nomomers copolymerizable with (A) (e.g. styrene, etc.), and (C) a radical polymerization initiator soluble in the monomers (e.g. caproyl peroxide, etc.) is dissolved in the above mixture. The solution is dispersed in water containing a dispersant (e.g. fatty acid soap, etc.). Dispersing and homogenizing treatment of the nomomers is performed by mechanical means, e.g. homogenizers, etc., to obtain finely dispersed nomomers. A rubber latex can be prepared by heating the dispersion to polymerize the monomers. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
