PURPOSE: The reaction between an active hydrogen compound and an alkyl halide is effected in the presence of fine particles of alkali hydroxide to produce title compound useful as synthetic intermediate of medicine and agricultural chemical with no use of specific solvent in high yield and purity. n CONSTITUTION: In the presence of fine particles of alkali hydroxide with particle sizes of less than several hundred microns, preferably less than a hundred microns, an active hydrogen compound and an alkyl halide are made to react in a usual solvent as benzene or toluene preferably at 20W60°C for 0.5W1hr. The fine particles of alkali hydroxide is obtained by melting the alkali hydroxide in an inert solvent in the presence of a dispersant and then gradually cooling under vigorus stirring. The amount of the alkali used is 3W6 times the moles of the active methylene compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
