titleOfInvention | Anti-fouling agent for sea water |
abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a low-toxic antifouling marine paint effective to prevent the attaching of marine life such as hard-shelled mussel, etc. to fish-net, ship hulls, etc., by adding a specific amine or its salt to a film-forming material. n CONSTITUTION: An anti-fouling marine paint composed of (A) a compound of formula [R 1 is 12W18C saturated or unsaturated straight chain hydrocarbon; R 2 is H or methyl; R 3 is H, methyl or (CH 2 ) 3 NH 2 (provided that when R 2 is methyl, R 3 is also methyl)], or its salt, e.g. dodecylamine, dodecylmethylamine, etc., and (B) a film-forming material, as essential components. The paint is effective to prevent the attaching of sessile marine animals such as hard-shelled mussel, sea moss, etc., to the marine construction such as stationary net for culturing young yellowtails, ship hulls, walls of intake channel, etc. The paint is low-toxic, and its effectivity continues for a long time. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
