PURPOSE:To provide a make-up cosmetic containing sepiomelanine which is a safe and easily available black pigment. CONSTITUTION:Sepiomelanine (ink of cuttlefish) is compounded to eye-liner, mascara, eyebrow pencil, lipstick, etc. as a black pigment. The sepiomelanine can be easily obtained in high yield, by taking out from an inkbag of cuttlefish, washing or dialysing with water, and drying. It is indolemelanine having a composition extremely close to that of the melanine of the human hair, and is free of primary stimulation, sensitization, photo-toxicity, and photo-sensitization. Since it is composed of animal proteins, it has moderate hydrophilic charactieristics, and is easily dispersed in water compared with the other inorganic pigments. Especially suitable to use as a liquid-type eye-liner or an eyebrow pencil. |
