titleOfInvention Preparation of polycarbonate oligomer
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title oligomer with narrow molecular weight distribution and uniform composition, by the reaction, in the presence of an inert organic, solvent, under a specific condition, between phosgene and an alkaline aqueous solution containing an alkali (alkaline earth) metal salt of a dihydric phenol. n CONSTITUTION: An alkaline aqueous solution containing an alkali (alakaline eath) metal salt of a dihydric phenol is brought to be maintained at temperatures ≤10°C (pref. ≤0°C) followed by feeding phosgene in the presence of an inert organic solvent such as methylene chloride, toluene, with absorbing the resulting heat of the phosgenation reaction by the cold which the above chilled aqueous solution retains to carry out the reaction keeping the temperature of the reaction system at ≤10°C (pref. ≤0°C). The temperature of the system is then made to rise to ≥15°C to convert the reaction product into the objective oligomer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
