titleOfInvention Regeneration-recovery method by electrolytic stripping of plastic surface
abstract PURPOSE: To recover the plastic and metal simultaneously without fear of causing pollution, by filling the middle region between the anode region and cathode region in the electrolytic cell with a thin piece of plastic deposited with metal, and supplying power. n CONSTITUTION: Insoluble ferrite electrode is used as the anode, iron plate as the cathode, and 10% hydrochloric acid solution as the electrolyte. A plastic cylinder with porous bottom at middle region is filled with a fine piece of plastic plated only with copper and Ni of which chrome plating being removed preliminarily by hydrochloric acid. In this setting, electrolysis is performed. First, Ni is not electrodialyzed, and only copper is recovered. By repetition of this operation, copper is removed from the electrolyte, and the concentration of Ni rises gradually until reaching a specified concentration. At this time, by adjusting pH to 3W4, Ni is recovered. This process is pollution-free because aqua regia is not used and incineration is not performed, and recovery is achieved without lowering the quality of plastic. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
