abstract PURPOSE: To improve the piercing resistant strength of the title glass at low temp. by sticking two or more glass plates together with an intermediate film obtd. by adding a restricted amt. of a specified ester cpd. and triethylene glycol esterified with caproic acid to a polyvinyl acetal resin. n CONSTITUTION: To 100pts. wt. of a polyvinyl acetal resin such as polyvinyl butyral with a butyral formation degree of 60W70mol% and a polymn. degree of 1000W 2000 are added 20W50, esp. 30W45pts. wt. of a mixt., as a plasticizer, consisting of an ester cpd. of the formula, e.g. triethylene glycol di-2-ethyl butyrate and triethy lene glycol esterified with caproic acid. The ratio of the latter to the former is above 5%. The resulting intermediate film is put between two glass plates and pressurized by a known method to produce a laminate. This product can be used outdoors over a long time without lowering the piercing resistant strength, and it has superior weather resistance. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
