abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a herbicide effective to broad-leaved weeds, perennial weeds, etc. and having wide application period, by mixing 1-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-3- (p-tolyl) urea and a specific pyrazole derivative. n CONSTITUTION: A herbicidal composition composed of (A) 1-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-3-(p-tolyl)urea and (B) a pyrazole derivative of formula [X is H, 4-toluenesulfonyl,-(CH 2 ) n -Y (Y is lower alkoxy, etc.; n is 1,2)], e.g. 1,3-dimethyl-4- (2, 4-dichlorobenzoyl)-5-hydroxypyrazole. The composition is harmless to rice plant, man and beast, keeps its effect for long period, and kills broad-leaved weeds and perennial weeds such as arrowhead by a single application.
