titleOfInvention | Preparation of coenzyme q |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain coenzyme Q useful esp. as a remedy for cardiac insufficiency, etc., easily and economically, by absorbing a reduction-type coenzyme Q to an absorbent such as silica gel, and the oxidizing the coenzyme Q. n CONSTITUTION: Using an absorbent selected from silica gel, alumina, active carbon, zeolite, etc., reduction-type coenzyme Q is absorbed and oxidized to give coenzyme Q. The reduction-type coenzyme Q may be the one obtained by synthesis and existing in the reaction mixture (i.e. containing impurities). By stirring the coenzyme in a low-polar solvent, such as toluene or hexane, together with an absorbent, the oxidation can be carried out efficiently. n EFFECT: Separation and purification of the desired substance can be carried out simultaneously. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
