titleOfInvention Producing plate type denitrification catalyst
abstract PURPOSE: In producing a catalyst used for selective contact reduction of NO x in waste gas by NH 3 , a thin durable highly active plate type denitrification catalyst which is easy to be scaled up is provided. n CONSTITUTION: A slurry made of porous powder carrier containing active components and binder is coated on metal screen and dried to produce a plate type denitrification catalyst. As such carrier, orthotitanate or metatitanate preferred at temperatures of 600°C or higher for 0.5 to 10 hours is used. Orthotitanate is prepared, for example, by hydrolysis of TiCl 4 or titanium sulphate in an aqueous alkaline solution. Metatitanate is prepared by hydrolysis of 1 titanium sulphate in warm water. The so prepared catalyst provides a large area catalytic plate reinforced by metal screen as well as a desired shape by use of honeycomb structure. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
