titleOfInvention Production in high yield of antibiotic sf-1293
abstract PURPOSE: An antibiotic, SF-1293, being useful as nonpollutional antimold and herbicidal agent, is produced in high yield by culturing a microorganism producing the same in a medium containing a specifc precursor. n CONSTITUTION: A bacterium producing SF-1293, e.g., Streptomyces hygroscopicus, (FERM-996) is cultured in a medium containing a substance with methylphosphino groups as a precursor of SF-1293. The compound bearing methylphosphino groups is, e.g., L- or DL-2-amino-4-methylphosphinobutyric acid, its salt, or methylphosphinic acid, or its amide, ester or salt. The antibiotic, SF-1293, has the chemical structure of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
