titleOfInvention Catalyst composition
abstract PURPOSE: The catalyst composition which has the specific structure comprising adding TiO 2 and active components composed of one or more kinds of the specified inorganic oxides to base material of calcium silicate and which effectively and economically reduces the NO x in exhaust gas with NH 3 as a reducing agent and makes the exhaust gas pollution-free. n CONSTITUTION: The catalyst composition of the formula comprising adding TiO 2 and active components to the calcium silicate synthesized from limestone and silica sand. In this formula, MO denotes one or more kinds of oxides of transition metals of base metals of groups VB, VI B, VII B, VIII and copper. E.g., Co 2 O 3 , MoO 3 , WO 3 , SnO 2 , ZnO, etc. may be enumerated as this MO. For example, this catalyst composition is easy to mold and may be fabricated to thin plate form as well. In addition its specific gravity is as light as 0.2 to 0.5g/cc. Hence, this is disposed as plate-form catalyst in the existing flue and is contacted with exhaust gas in parallel flow, whereby NO x may be made pollution-free with NH 3 as a reducing agent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
