titleOfInvention Preparation of 2-amino-4-acylaminophenyl ether
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate for an azo disperse dye in high selectivity and high yield, by maintaining the pH of the reaction mixture of a 2,4-diaminophenyl ether with an acylating agent in water and an organic solvent at a specific value. n CONSTITUTION: A 2,4-diaminophenyl ether, e.g. a compound of formula I (R is alkyl or phenyl group), is acylated with an acylating agent in water and an organic solvent at a pH of 6W10, preferably 6W8, by adding a base thereto, at a low temperature, preferably 0W20°C, to give a 2-amino-4-acylaminophenyl ether of formula II (A is acyl group). A by-product 2-acylamino derivative is scarcely formed with the amount of a by-product 2,4-bis(acylamino)derivative of 5% or less. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
