titleOfInvention Thermogenic composition
abstract PURPOSE: To provide a heat-generating compsn. in which heat generation can be kept at a desired temperature for a certain period of time, consisting of calcium oxide, a fusible compd. and a compd. which contains water of crystallization and generates heat when the compd. is allowed to contact with calcium oxide. n CONSTITUTION: There is provided a compsn. consisting of (A) calcium oxide; (B) a compd. which is a solid at ordinary temp. and contains water of crystallization, generating heat when it is allowed to contact with calsium oxide; and (C) a compd. which is a solid at ordinary temp. and does not react with (A) or (B), and melts at a temp. (pref. 40W300°C) lower than the attainable max. temp., generating heat when (A) is contacted with (B). Preferable examples of the component (B) are silicic acid, Na 2 SO 4 .10H 2 O, Na 2 HPO 4 .12H 2 O, and MnSO 4 .6H 2 O. Ex amples of the component (C) are hydrocarbons such as trans-stilbene, and esters such as dimethyl terephthalate. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
