titleOfInvention Resin for blow molding
abstract PURPOSE: To make it possible to prevent a phenomenon of stringing during molding, by producing a resin composition containing as a main component, a rubber- modified polymer prepared by grafting a styrene type monomer onto a small amount of rubber. n CONSTITUTION: A solution prepared by mixing a polymerization catalyst with a solution prepared by dissolving 0.1W1pt.wt. of a rubbery material such as polybutadiene in 100pts.wt. of styrene or a monomer copolymerizable with styrene, is dispersed in water. The dispersion is polymerized first at about 90°C for several hours and then at about 130°C for several hours to obtain a rubber-modified styrene polymer having a rubber content of 0.1W1wt%. The obtained bead polymer is pelletized into a resin for injection molding. The pellets by themselves, or a combination thereof with an impact-resistant styrene polymer does not give rise to problems of stringing during molding, and so, provides moldings having excellent strength and appearance. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
