abstract PURPOSE: To efficiently prevent coloration and loss of strength during molding of a chlorine-containing resin, by employing as a heat stabilizer, a boron compound having at least one group selected from the class consisting three specific compds, having a thioether structure. n CONSTITUTION: To 100pts.wt. of a chlorine-containing resin, is added 0.01W10 pts.wt. of a boron compound having at least one group selected from the class consisting of groups represented by formulas I, II and III, wherein R 1 is (substituted) alkylene, wherein the substituent is OH, SH or alkyl; R 2 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, phenyl, arylalkyl, alkylaryl or arylalkenyl and R 3 is (substituted) alkylidene, wherein the substituent is alkyl. Optionally, other known stabilizers and antioxidants are used in combination with the present stabilizer.
