titleOfInvention Preparation of l-phenylalanine by fermentation
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare efficiently a great amount of L-phenylalanine, by cultivating a specific facterium belonging to the genus Escherichia, followed by collecting L-phenylalanine by means of direct fermentation from a carbon source, e.g., saccharide. n CONSTITUTION: A bacterium belonging to the genus Escherichia, having tryrosine demanding properties, phenylalanine analog resistance, tryptophan analog resistance, and 2-thiazolealanine producing ability, is cultivated to collect L-phenylalanine formed and accumulated in a medium. Escherichia coli AJ11377 may be cited as the facterium. The strain is a mutant having tryrosine demanding properties, phenylalanine analog resistance, tryptophan analog resistance and 2-thiazolealanine resistance, obtained by mutation of Escherichia coli K-12. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
