NEW MATERIAL:1-Alkyl-2-oxo-2H-1,8-naphthyridine derivative shown by the formula I (R 1 is lower alkyl; R 2 WR 6 are H, lower alkyl, or phenyl; with the proviso that at least one of R 2 WR 6 is phenyl or lower alkyl). n EXAMPLE: 2-Oxo-4-phenyl-1,5,7-trimethyl-2H-1,8-naphthyridine. n USE: Diuretics. n PROCESS: A pyridone derivative shown by the formula II is reacted with a compound shown by the formula III in phosphoric acid under heating to give a compound shown by the formula I. 2-Oxo-2H-1,8-naphthyridine derivative shown by the formula IV is reacted with the compound shown by the formula R 1 -X (X is halogen) in a solvent, e.g., methanol, at room temperature or under heating to give the compound shown by the formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
