abstract | PURPOSE: To stop the progress of reaction of the antigen and antibody, by applying the fixing agent after the reaction foa a fixed time between the sensitizing carrier particle suspension and the specimen solution and thus solidifying the cohered lump produced through the reaction of the antigen and antibody. n CONSTITUTION: The carbodiimide group, the dialdehyde group, the protein denatured reagent or the like is used for the fixing agent. In other words, the reaction is given for a fixed time between the sensitizing carrier particle suspension (the suspension of the insoluble fine grain carrier in which the antigen, the antibody or the like corresponding to the measured material are combined) and the specimen solution containing the measured material (antibody, antigen, etc.). After this, the above-mentioned fixing agent is applied to give stop to the reaction of the antigen and antibody. At the same time, the produced cohered lump is solidified. And then the light absorption degree (or the degree of suspension) is measured for the reaction mixture solution mentioned above in order to determine the quantity of the measured material in the specimen solution.
