titleOfInvention Powder composition for refreshing drink
abstract PURPOSE: To provide a powder composition for refreshing drink which changes its color with time after dissolving in water, by adding an anthraquinone-based natural dye and a pH-regulating agent coated with a water-soluble coating agent. n CONSTITUTION: A composition containing (A) a water-soluble anthraquinone- based natural dye selected from carminic acid and laccaic acid, (B) other ingredients for refreshing drinks, e.g. a sweetening agent, a flavor, etc., and (C) pH- regulating agents consisting of (C1) an organic acid selected from citric acid and dl-malic acid and (C2) an alkaline slat selected from tripolyphosphoric acid sodium salt and sodium bicarbonate, wherein either (C1) or (C2) is coated with a water-soluble coating agent selected from saccharides, saccharide-derivatives, and synthetic sizing agent. When the powdery composition thus obtained is thrown into water, the pH of the solution, and accordingly, the color tone of the dye changes gradually by the dissolution of the coating agent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
