titleOfInvention Purification of phosphate for electrical insulation
abstract PURPOSE: To remove impurities of a phosphate and to purify it in such a degree that it can be used as insulating oil, by rectifying the phosphate, followed by subjecting it to cleaning treatment, diluting operation with aromatic diluting oil, electrophoresis, adsorption treatment, degasification and dewatering. n CONSTITUTION: A phosphate is subjected to a rectification with theoretical plates not less than 2 under reduced pressures. By this rectification, not less than 2wt% of initial distillate and distillation residue based on the total raw material fed are removed. The obtained distillate is submitted to cleaning treatment including alkali washing process, and diluted with aramatic insulating oil. The phosphate is then subjected to electrophoresis under DC voltage and adsorption treatment by an adsorbent consisting of a granular inorganic silicate. At last, the phosphate undergoes degasification and dewatering to give a purified phosphate having improved electrical properties, which as insulating oil can be filled directly in an oil-containing condenser. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
