titleOfInvention Measuring method of persulfate ion concentration
abstract PURPOSE: To measure S 2 O 8 -2 concentration with good accuracy in a short time by measuring the time until the potential difference between a copper electrode and reference electrode or standard electrode shows the point of inflection while flowing fixed electric current between the copper electrode and insoluble electrode in an aqueous alkaline solution of persulfuric acid. n CONSTITUTION: Three kinds of electrodes, a copper electrode, an electrode (platinum or the like) insoluble in the measuring solution and a standard electrode (silver-silver chloride electrode) are dipped in the measuring solution of about 0.01W0.1mol/l in persulfate ion (S 2 O 8 -2 ) concentration and 0.1W2.5mol/l in alkali (NaOH or the like) concentration. While constant electric current is being flowed between the copper electrode and insoluble electrode, the time showing the point of inflection of the potential difference between the copper electrode and reference electrode or standard electrode is measured from the time when the electric current was begun to flow and the concentration of S 2 O 8 -2 is measured by using the working curve obtained beforehand from the S 2 O 8 -2 of a known concentration. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
