titleOfInvention Skin cosmetic
abstract PURPOSE:A skin cosmetic having improved fittness to the skin free from side effect, comprising purified tar obtained by diazotizing mineral, animal, or vegetable tar, and, if necessary, followed by hydrolysis. CONSTITUTION:Mineral tar (e.g., coal tar, quartzite coal), animal tar (e.g, fish residuary substances) or vegetable tar (e.g., tar of soybean cake tar), or tar obtained by distilling these tar under reduced pressure is diazotized with nitrous acid. Excess nitrous acid is then removed by a decomposer, e.g., ascorbic acid, and a diazonium salt is heated or hydrolyzed to form a hydroxyl compound. The pH of the resulting solution is adjusted to give purified tar. 1-7wt% of the purified tar is added to a skin cosmetic to give a skin cosmetic capable of preventing the skin injury. The distillation under reduced pressure prevents the occurrence of carcinogens and mutagens with ease and effecitvely.
