PURPOSE: To provide a curable compsn. which excels in storage stability, produces coating film having an excellent rust-preventing property, corrosion resistance and water resistance, and does not yellow, by a method wherein a surfactant and/or a thickener and water are added to a mixt. of a polyester-modified vinyl resin and a crosslinkable phosphoric acid gp.-contg. copolymer resin. n CONSTITUTION: (A) 5W90wt% of a polyester-modified vinyl resin having a hydroxyl value of 20W18 resulting from the graft polymn. of (1) 1W40wt% of an unsaturated polyester resin and (2) 99W60wt% of an α, β-monoethylenically unsaturated monomer is mixed with (B) 95W10wt% of a crosslinkable phosphoric acid gp.-contg. copolymer resin obtd. from a monomer mixt. of a phosphoric acid gp.-contg. α, β-monoethyenically unsaturated monomer and an N-alkoxymethylated monomer of an α, β-monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid amide in order to obtain a finely divided thermosetting resin mixt.
