abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a title polymer of which a monomer unit is regularly arranged, by a method wherein bis(carboxyphenyl) phthalate obtained from a hydroxybenzoic acid derivative is subjected to the polycondensation reaction in the prsence of hydroquinone or the like and, after a solvent is removed, the bulk polymerization is carried out. n CONSTITUTION: A compound shown by formula I (wherein R 1 is H, benzyl or the like) such as p-hydroxybenzoic acid and a compound shown by formula II (wherein X is halogen) such as terephthalic acid chloride are reacted by using a hydrocarbon with b.p. of 100W260°C as a solvent to form bis(carboxyphenyl) phthalate. Subsequently, the polycondensation reaction is carried out in the pesence of a compound shown by formula III (wherein Y is O, SO 2 , S or the like; Z is H, alkanoyl; m, n are 0 or 1) such as hydroquinone and, at the same time, a solvent is removed to carry out the bulk polymerization and an objective polymer shown by formula IV (wherein α is 3W300, m, n, y have the same meaning as above described) is obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
