titleOfInvention | Preparation of polyester with high terminal carboxyl group content |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a titled polyester with little generation of volatile components when heat-melted and being useful as a raw material for fiber or the like, by polycondensing a low-molecular polymer containing ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent in the presence of a catalyst such as an antimony compound or a germanium compound. n CONSTITUTION: Terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol are directly subjected to the esterification reaction in 90W93% esterification ratio, and a lows molecular polymer having value expressed by the formula of 90W93 is obtained. Subsequently, this low- molecular polymer is polycondensed by using an antimony compound such as antimony trioxide, antimony trichloride, or antimony acetate or and a germanium compound such a germanium dioxide, germanium ethoxide, or dimethylgermanium diacetate as a catalyst to obtain a titled polyester in which above 80% of a total terminal group is carboxyl group. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
