abstract | NEW MATERIAL:The title compound of the formula I (R 1 is H, alkyl, alkoxy, or halogen; R 2 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, or haloalkyl; R 3 is alkyl, aralkyl, phenyl, or halophenyl). n EXAMPLE: 2-(N-cyanoisopropylamino)-4-methylbenzophenone. n USE: Useful as medicines for men and animals, and as intermediates for the synthesis of antiinflammatory agents, quinazolin-2-ones, due to the antiinflammatory effects. n PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with a cyanogen halogenide, e.g. cyanogen chloride or bromide, in the presence of a salt, preferably potassium carbonate or sodium hydrogencarbonate, usually in an inert solvent, e.g. chloroform, at about 60W80°C, to give the title compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
