titleOfInvention Preparation of aporphine-type compound
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare aporphine-type compounds, some of which have pharmaceutical activity, by the oxidative cyclization of N-oxides obtained from isoquinoline- form compound. n CONSTITUTION: An aporphine-type compound of formula II (e.g. corytuberine) is prepared by the oxidative cyclization (i.e. phenoloxidation) of an N-oxide of formula I (R is lower alkyl), e.g. reticulin N-oxide, in an alcoholic solvent such as methanol, ethanol, etc., in the presence of a catalyst such as cuprous chloride. The N-oxide of formula I can be prepared, e.g. by oxidizing an isoquinoline-form compound of formula III with an oxidizing agent such as H 2 O 2 , m-chloro-perbenzoic acid, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
