titleOfInvention Polyester-imide/polyhydantoin coating composition
abstract PURPOSE:The title composition having improved coating and baking performance, with a slight film roughening, comprising (A) a polyester-imide obtained from an imidodicarboxylic acid, an aromatic dibasic acid, a polycarboxylic acid, and an aliphatic diol, and (B) a polyhydantoin, CONSTITUTION:A coating composition comprising (A) 100 parts by wt. of a polyester-imide obtained by reacting (a) an imidodicarboxylic acid having one or two five-membered ring imido groups in the molecule with (b) an aromatic dibasic acid, e.g. terephthalic or isophthalic acid, (c) a tri-or polycarboxylic acid, e.g. 4- carboxy-phthalic anhydride or trimesic acid, and (d) an aliphatic diol, e.g. ethylene glycol or 1, 4-butanediol, and (B) 5-55 parts by wt., preferably 10-30 parts by wt., of a polyhydantoin obtained from an aromatic primary diamine and ethyl chloroacetate.
