abstract PURPOSE:Title molded products, excellent in heat resistance and Young's modulus and useful for tires, etc., composed of a specified proportion of aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid residues, aromatic dihydroxy compound residues, aromatic dicarboxylic acid residues and carbonate residues. CONSTITUTION:Polyester molded products having Young's modulus >=700kg/mm<2>, are obtained by compounding (A) the residue of aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acids, such as p-hydroxybenzoic acid and its derivatives, i.e., 3-chloro-4-hydroxybenzoic acid, (B) the residue of aromatic dihydroxy compounds, such as dihydroxydiphenyl and its derivatives, i.e., chlorinated dihydroxydiphenyl, (C) the residue of aromatic dicarboxylic acids, such as terephthalic acid and naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and (D) the residue of carbonates such as diphenyl carbonate, so as to satisfy formulae I and II (A,B,C and D are respectively, the number of moles of said A, B, C and D components; C<B).
