titleOfInvention | Image retentive member |
abstract | PURPOSE: To raise the bonding strength and mechanical durability of an image retentive member retaining an electrostatic image or a toner image and maintain the electrophotographic characteristics and image properties well by forming a silane coupling agent-containing layer on said member surface. n CONSTITUTION: For example, an image retentive member is composed of support 1 and photoconductive layer 2 laid on support 1. Layer 2 is coated with a coating solution prepared by dissolving a silane coupling agent such as γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane in a solution based on butyl rubber, nitrile-butadiene rubber or other resin together with a curing initiator as required. The solution coated on layer 2 is then dried and cured by radiation with a mercury lamp to form silane coupling agent-containing layer 3. When substrate 1 is larger than layer 2, layer 3 is formed so as to cover the whole of the naked portion of substrate 1 and layer 2. In case of other electrostatic image retentive member having no photoconductive layer, layer 3 is formed on the member. On layer 3 insulating protective layer 4 made of photosetting epoxy-acrylic resin or the like may be formed. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
