titleOfInvention Stabilized composition of 1,1,1-trichloroethane
abstract PURPOSE: The title stabilized composition, usful as an industrial solvent for degreasing and cleaning metals and the like, comprising nitromethane, methylbutynol, dimethoxyethane, butylene oxide, a polyepoxide, etc. n CONSTITUTION: 0.1W2.0% of nitromethane and/or 0.1W1% of nitroethane, 0.5W 5% of methylbutynol and/or tertiary butanol, 0.5W5% of dimethoxyethane and/or secondary butanol, 0.02W2% of butylene oxide and a polyepoxide, are added to 1,1,1-trichloroethane (A), for its stabilization, to avoid decomposition by its contact with metals, and subsequent corrosion of cleaned materials or equipment. The A stabilized by the method mentioned above is not decomposed by ordinary steam- cleaning or even under severe conditions of simultaneous distillation-recovery. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
