titleOfInvention Remedy and preventive for arteriosclerotic cardiopathy and cerebrosis
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the title remedy which increases high-density lipoproteins in blood, by the use of methylmethionine sulfonium salt as an effective component. n CONSTITUTION: A composition containing a methylmethionine sulfonium salt, especially methylmethionine sulfonium chloride, as an effective component. When the lipoproteins in blood is divided into three fractions, the fraction having the highest density (HDL) has negative correlation to the morbidity of cardiopathy. The above compound, which is known as a remedy for peptic ulcer, hepatic diseases, etc., has been found to have an HDL-increasing effect, and accordingly, is useful as a remedy for arteriosclerotic cardiopathy and cerebrosis. Does: pref. 500W2,000mg/day for adult by oral administration. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
