PURPOSE: To prepare an epichlorohydrin rubber compostiton having improved heat softening properties, while keeping its original characteristics, by kneading a specific ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer with an epichlorohydrin rubber. n CONSTITUTION: (I) ≥ 20 wt.% of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer prepared preferably by emulasion polymerization of a composition comprising (A) ethylene, (B) vinyl acetate, (C) a compound I (R 1 is H or 1W4 C alkyl; R 2 is 1W8C alkyl) (e.g. methyl acrylate, etc.) and (D) one or more compounds II W IV[R 3 is H or methyl; R 4 is vinyl, allyl or methallyl; R 5 is CH 2 (Cl)CH 2 , or CH 2 (Cl)CO] (e.g. glycidyl acrylate, etc. as II), wherein (A)/(B) ≤ 1, (C)/[(A)+(B)+(C)]≤ 0.9 and (D)/[(A)+(B)+(C)]=0.005W0.1 by weight, is kneaded with (II)≤80wt.% of an epichlorohydrin rubber. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
