titleOfInvention Preventive and curing medicine for bacteria infectious disease comprising apotransferrin as active ingredient
abstract PURPOSE: A preventive and curing medicine for bacteria infectious disease effective against both resistant and nonresistant bacteria, comprising apotransferrin derived from human blood serum and plasma as a main component. n CONSTITUTION: Comprising apotrasferrin, glycoprotein existing both in human blood serum and plasma as a main component. The compound contains about 5.5wt% of sugar, belongs to β-globuline electrophoretically and has a molecular weight of 70,000W90,000. It prevents the intoxication action caused by an excess of iron ion in the blood serum and acts as a carrier to provide the body with iron ions in the form of nontoxicity depending upon the seversible reaction between the compound and transferrin combined with iron. By administration of the compound, free iron to be given to a iron-requiring bacteria (e.g., bascillus subtilis, Staphylococcus, dysentery bacillus, a tubercle facillus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) is taken to exhibit a preventive and curing effect. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
