abstract PURPOSE: A novel antifouling coating that contains triphenyltin compound, trialkyltine compound and high-molecular weight organotin compound as the major antifouling component, thus giving coating films with high antifouling properties at the initial stage as well as for long periods of time. n CONSTITUTION: The objective coating contains (A) at least one selected from (a) triphenyltin compounds preferably of formula I (X is hydroxyl, halogen, 1W18C monobasic or polybasic acid, group of formula II and III) and (b) trialkyltin compound of formula IV (R is 1W6C alkyl; Y is the same group as in X) and (B) a high-molecular-weight organotin compound that has a structure preferably of the base polymer linking with triphenyltin and trialkyltin groups at the pendant side chains and terminal end groups as the major antifouling component and rosin or its derivative as the vehicle. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
