titleOfInvention | Heat-stable, porous nylon membrane |
abstract | PURPOSE: To manufacture a heat-stable, porous nylon membrane useful as a heat- exchanging medium of a total heat exchanger, by dissolving a nylon resin in a methanol solution of calcium chloride, and adding a specific amount of cuprous chloride to the solution. n CONSTITUTION: Calcium chloride is dissolved in methanol. A proper amount of fibers, pellets, etc. of a nylon polymer, e.g. 6-nylon, is added to the solution, and the nylon is dissolved, e.g. under stirring and refluxing of methanol. One to 10mol of cuprous chloride, based on 1mol of calcium chloride remaining in the porous nylon membrane, is added to the solution as a stabilizer. A white, flexible, porous membrane is manufactured, e.g. by immersing a porous sheet such as non-woven facric, in a bath containing the nylon solution, removing methanol by drying, and then removing calcium chloride by washing with water. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
