PURPOSE: To obtain an electrodeposited coating of high, stable quality, by providing an electrodeposition coating containing a resin prepared by reacting a polyisocyanate compound, several hydroxy compounds and a blocking agent, and applying the coating to the cathode which is a conductive material to be coated, such as iron or copper. n CONSTITUTION: A mixture containing (a) a polyisocyanate compound such as 2,4- tolylene diisocyanate or tetramethylene diisocyanate, (b) a polyhydroxy compound such as ethylene glycol, (c) a tert. amine preferably containing at least two hydroxyl groups in the molecule, such as N-methyldiethanolamine or N-butyldiethanolamine, (d) a tert. amino group-containing hydroxy compound obtained by quaternizing the component (c) with a quaternizing agent such as ethylene oxide, and (e) a blocking agent such as diethylamine is reacted. To an aqueous solution or dispersion of the resulting resin is added a pigment or the like, to produce an electrodeposition coating.
