titleOfInvention Polymerizable sulfate and its preparation
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A polymerizable sulfate of formula I [R 1 and R 2 are H or CH 3 ; R 3 is 1W21C (un)saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon residue, M is alkali metal or NH 4 ]. n EXAMPLE: Ammonium salt of glycerol-1-caprylic acid-3-methacrylic acid diester-2- sulfate. n USE: Emulsion polymerization emulsifiers with various surface activities, improved emulsifying power and copolymerizability, and a slight migration to waste water, antistatic agents for synthetic resin and fibers, hygroscopicity and dyeability improvers, and raw materials for high-polymer surfactants. n PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with a sulfamic acid in the presence of N,N-dimethyl formamide to give the objective compound of formula I. Alternatively, the compound of formula II is reacted with a complex of chlorosulfonic acid and urea at 0°C or below, and neutralized with NaOH or KOH. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
