titleOfInvention Purification of haptoglobin
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound industrially advantageously available for preventing a kidney thouble, etc., having binding properties of free hemoglobin in the blood, by treating a haptoglobin-containing aqueous solution with a water- insoluble dimer globin and adsorbing the solution on the dimer globin, followed by dissolution of the former. n CONSTITUTION: A haptoglobin-containing aqueous solution, e.g., plasma, serum, ascites, globulin fraction, etc. is treated with a water-insoluble dimer globulin (e.g., a compound obtained by fixing a dimer globulin on a carrier, e.g., agarose, followed by making it insoluble) in a pH of 4W11 at the concentration of the inorganic salt calculated as sodium chlovide of not more than 1.5mol so that haptoglobin is adsorbed on the water-insoluble dimer globulin. The resulting product is then treated with an aqueous solution of an inorganic salt, e.g., a 1W6mol aqueous solution of magnesium chloride, haptoglobin is dissolved in the solution and separated from the solution to give the desired high-purity compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
