titleOfInvention Preparation of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer membrane
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title polymer membrane having improved selective permeability and strength, by forming a solution of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol polymer composition with a specific ethylene content in a solvent into a membrane. n CONSTITUTION: (B) 5W50wt% of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol(EVA) polymer with an ethylene content of 1W20mol% is incorporated into (A) 95W50wt% of an EVA polymer with an ethylene content of 20W90mol% to give the difference in ethylene content between (A) and (B) of 5mol% or more. The resulting composition is dissolved in a solvent selected from dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethylacetamide, pyrrolidone, and methylpyrrolidone to form a 10W40wt% solution, which is formed in an aqueous coagulation bath at a temperature T satisfying the formula (C is the concentration of the solution) into a membrane. n USE: Dialysis membrane for artificial kidneys. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
