titleOfInvention Production of alpha-olefin polymer
abstract PURPOSE: To efficiently produce an α-olefin polymer, by polymerizing an α-olefin in the presence of a catalyst comprising a combination of an organoaluminum compound and a solid product prepared by reacting a polysiloxane with a reaction product of a reduced solid of titanium tetrachloride and an α-olefin, etc. n CONSTITUTION: An electron donor, such as methanol or phenol, and an electron acceptor, such as silicon tetrachloride or stannous chloride, are reacted with a reduced solid which is obtained by reducing titanium tetrachloride with an organoaluminum compound and which is in a state of coexistence with a polymer obtained by the polymerization treatment of the reduced solid with an α-olefin. The solid product obtained is further reacted with a polysiloxane, such as octamethyltrisiloxane, to form a second solid product. The second solid product (100g) is combined with about 50W5000g of an organoaluminum compound such as trimethylaluminum to form a polymerization catalyst. An α-olefin is polymerized in the presence of the catalyst and, thereby, the polymer of the purpose is obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
