titleOfInvention Preparation of amino-alkyl ester of amino acid
abstract PURPOSE: To improve the reaction efficiency in the preparation of the title compound, a raw material of polyurethane, through the reaction of a hydrochloride of an amino acid with a hydrochloride of an amino-alcohol in the presence of hydrogen chloride gas, etc., by adding a surface active agent to the reaction liquid. n CONSTITUTION: A hydrochloride of an amino acid is esterified with a hydrochloride of an amino-alcohol in an organic solvent while hydrogen chloride gas is being introduced, to give an amino-alkyl ester of an amino acid. The reaction is carried out in the presence of about 0.01W10wt%, preferably about 0.1W3wt% of a surface active agent based on the total amount of both the raw material compounds. Any type of a surface active agent, a cation, anion, or nonion one may be used as the surface active agent, but the cation one is the best. The surface active agent may be added in any stage of the esterification, but advantageously added especially in the latter stage of the reaction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
