titleOfInvention Clazamycin a and/or b and their preparation
abstract NEW MATERIAL:Clazamycin A of formula I (the steric configuration of hydroxyl group is alpha), clazamycin B of formula II (the steric configuration of hydroxyl group is beta), and their salts. USE:Remedy for microbism and carcinostatic agent. PREPARATION:One of Actinomycetes separated from a soil sample, MF990-BF4 mold (FERM-4768), which belongs to Streptomyces, is aerobically cultured in a medium containing soybean or peanut powders at 25-30 deg.C. The resulting culture mixture is subjected to column chromatography filled with a crosslinked macromolecular resin using water as a developing solvent to isolate clazamycin A and B and they are purified.
