titleOfInvention Prostaglandin-analog compound, its preparation, and remedy for circulatory disease containing compound as effective component
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A prostaglandin-analog compound of formula I [R is H or 1W4C alkyl; the wavy lines represent α- or β-configuration (i.e. S- or R-configuration) or their mixture; the double bonds between C 2 and C 3 , and C 13 and C 14 are trans], and a cyclodextrin clathrate compound of the acid or its ester. n EXAMPLE: 9-Oxo-11α, 15α-dihydroxy-17s,20-dimethylprosta-trans-2, trans-13-dienoic acid (17s,20-dimethyl-trans-Δ 2 -PGE 1 ). n USE: Vasodilator, hypotensor, remedy for cardiac infarction, and remedy and preventive for thrombosis and arteriosclerosis. Low diarrheal side effect. Orally administrable. n PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by (1) oxidizing the OH group of the compound of formula II to oxo group with chromium trioxide, etc., and (2) hydrolyzing the resulting compound of formula III in an aqueous solution of an organic acid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
