titleOfInvention Oxygen absorbent
abstract PURPOSE: To provide an oxygen absorbent contg. ferrous acetate and sodium sulfate decahydrate which absorbent selectively removes O 2 in a package, prevents survival and propagation of mold, bacteria, worms, etc. in the contents of the package, and inhibits decay, change in quality or deterioration due to oxidation reaction. n CONSTITUTION: The oxygen absorbent is a mixt. of 1 part by wt. of ferrous acetate and 0.01W100, pref. 0.05W50, esp. pref. 0.1W20 parts by wt. of sodium sulfate decahydrate. It is used in the original form of fine powder, or the mixed powder is molded into pellets, etc. At the time of molding the powder, a binder such as starch and a lubricant such as various stearic acid derivatives can be used. This oxygen absorbent is applicable to removal of O 2 , reduction of O 2 content, detection of existence of O 2 , etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
